Stephen may be a socially awkward, middle aged telemarketer and is desperately alone. At the suggestion of a co-worker, he goes out into the night to seek out a prostitute for "The Girlfriend Experience". With this, he meets Christa, a streetwise prostitute who's happy to satisfy his needs. Yet something unexpected happens.
But what happens when death enters the picture? How far would you attend keep the one person you've always wanted? Her Name Was Christa may be a movie that creates you think that it’s about necrophilia but there's such a lot more happening . Sure, the necrophilia is there but it's a such alittle a part of the story. In fact, it’s such alittle part that it’s almost unfair to call this a horror film. The movie was fantastic but calling it a horror movie may be a little bit of a stretch. The acting during this one is phenomenal. James L. Edwards and Shianne Daye work so well together. Edwards goes through a good range of emotions and really pulls the viewer in. The viewer sympathizes with him and when he hurts the viewer hurts. thereupon being said, Shianne Daye is that the opposite side of the spectrum. Her performance doesn’t draw emotion from the viewer but her sexy portrayal of Christa is astounding . If looks could kill she would be deadly. The supporting cast is solid also but these two are the celebs and permanently reason. The story for this one may be a deep character film that follows a lonely man who is contempt together with his life until he realizes that he's missing out by not having someone to like . This lonely man then finds the lady of his dreams and feels complete until his life comes crashing down. this is often a robust story that reflects real human fears of losing family and loved ones. once you mix in psychological state you get a surprisingly dark romance that holds your attention alright . Finally, this is often not a horror flick with a high count but we do get some fantastic effects during the last 20 minutes approximately . The decaying body was fucking fantastic. We do see the body in various stages of decomposition and therefore the effects team did one hell of employment with the corpse. it had been a real highlight of the film. Overall, Her Name Was Christa wasn't the movie i assumed it might be but that's what makes it so fantastic. It could are another Nekromantik clone but chose to be something better. This movie is great and Edwards’ powerhouse performance deserves to be seen. this is often a requirement for any indie movie fan. Check it out.
